Ричард Рорти, Аласдер Макинтайр и «постмодернистский буржуазный либерализм»
In the article there is comparative analysis of Richard Rorty’s and Alasdair MacIntyre’s views on modern liberal state. According to Rorty, contemporary society is situated in the condition of “postmodernist bourgeois liberalism”. Close relationships between political philosophy of both thinkers and more general presuppositions of their thought are analyzed. Although Rorty and MacIntyre are quite critical of classical liberalism, both authors approach to that notion from different positions and points of view. For both thinkers their meta-philosophical approach is important, which constitutes the view on ethical and political problems in frameworks of more general outlook on the human nature and the purpose and the meaning of human existence.
