Консервативные мотивы в трактатах Жан-Жака Руссо из цикла «Об искусстве и литературе»

The article is devoted to the identification of conservative motives in philosophical treatises by J.-J. Rousseau from the cycle ≪About Art and Literature≫. Considering these treatises as proto-ideological, the author poses the problem of accurately defining Rousseau’s ideological identity. Based on the methodology of the ≪anthropological approach≫ to conservatism as a social philosophy and political ideology (the founder is the English philosopher M. Oakeshott), the author argues that conservative motives are abundant in the analyzed treatises, which makes it possible to define Rousseau’s ideological identity not only as potentially liberal (traditional interpretation), but also as potentially conservative.
