In the framework of this article, the author sought to find an answer to the question of why, against the background of scientific achievements of domestic forensics, with such an abundance of new ideas, concepts, technologies, forensic algorithms, investigation programs - progress in the fight against crime remains subtle? He sees the main reason for this state of affairs in the fact that Russian forensics has developed autonomously for a long time, in isolation from leading foreign research schools. This state of it is largely preserved even now, despite the global integration processes that have covered almost all countries of the world. As the most promising direction for overcoming various kinds of negative phenomena, the author positions the implementation of modern information technologies in general into the scientific resources of the national forensics and, to increase the effectiveness of the fight against crimes committed using computer and network capabilities, in particular. In this article, they are considered in the context of the development of the global cryptocurrency market.
