HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Is It Possible to Predict a Citys Life Based on the Shape of Its Neighbourhoods?
Is it possible to predict, based on the configuration of streets and buildings, where a café will open or where traffic congestion will occur? Participants in the Spatial Analysis and Modelling of Urban Processes research and study group use open data and machine learning to identify universal patterns. Alexander Sheludkov and Eduard Somov discuss the purpose of comparing cities, the need for new forms of urban statistics, and how open data is transforming approaches to urban studies.

Mavrinsky I., В кн.: Границы науки / границы в науке: Труды Всероссийской научной конференции.: М.: Русское общество истории и философии науки, 2025.

By pointing to the possibility of managing and controlling the subject's desire, the classical understanding of the subject, built on the imperative of will, is problematized. In this context, ...

This article offers an interpretation of certain elements of Lacan’s teaching as an original solution to the problem of freedom inherited from Kojève, alongside the theory of the subject. Pirari G., Философский журнал 2024 Vol. 17 No. 4 P. 48–62
In the history of philosophy, death has not only represented the end of biological life. In the Platonic tradition, especially in its prolific interweaving with the Christian belief, death has come to symbolize the culmination of the philosophical effort, indeed even the very substance of philosophizing, which, as Plato said in the Phaedo, is a ...

Синтаксический статус аргументов предикативной посессивной конструкции в урмийском новоарамейском идиоме
Logvinova N., Рема 2022 № 2 С. 67–85
The present paper discusses the syntactic statuses of the core argumentsin  the  predicative possessive construction in  Neo-Aramaic Urmi dialect. The study analyses a diachronic hypothesis which states that the possessee is  an  “old” subject which has grammaticalized as  direct object, while the previously topical possessor is a “new” subject. The syntactic properties of both arguments are considered based on the eleven criteria for subjecthood proposed in  (Keenan, 1976). ...

The article discusses alternative ways of marking the animate participant of predicatives in Russian and Bulgarian. Both languages have a coding option where the argument is more syntactically privileged (dative case in Russian, dative/the preposition na in Bulgarian) or less privileged (prepositional phrase with dlja ‘for’ in Russian and za ‘for’ in Bulgarian). We discuss ...

Предикативы в системе русских признаковых слов - наречий и прилагательных
Letuchiy A., Вестник Томского государственного университета. Филология 2022 № 76 С. 105–147
The article focuses on the function and classification of Russian ‘predicatives’ (non-verbal predicates), such as uyutno ‘(it is) cosy’, nepriyatno ‘(it is) unpleasant’ and kholodno ‘(it is) cold’. The main problem I am solving is why the third element of the attributive system, besides adjectives and adverbials, is necessary. In the end, I conclude that predicatives have common properties ...

The author understands by the subject an infinite source of “can”, the space of a potential constantly confirmed and actualized omnipotence (a mathematical metaphor for an infinite-dimensional cube of possibilities is accepted). Subjectivity is interpreted ...
