The collection includes articles by scientists from Russia — Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, European countries and Vietnam showing various development aspects and stages of this country that were presented at the VIII International Scientific Conference on Essential Problems of Vietnamese Studies and at other scientific events organized by the Center for Vietnam and ASEAN studies in 2018. The collection includes three main sections. The first provides an analysis and synthesis of the lessons of the Paris talks on termination of the war and restoration peace in Vietnam and other aspects of the relationship between the DRV, USSR, PRC and the United States during the war period. The second section combines articles exploring the main directions of modern foreign policy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam aiming at integration into the regional community and world mastership. The third one presents the new phenomena in Vietnamese philology, culture and science. The collection is devoted to scholars and practitioners, teachers and students studying Vietnam, as well as a wide range of readers.
