Der „vereinnahmte Historiker“: Das Phänomen Robert Vipper
P. 225–252.
Translator: A. Kaplunovsky
The historian R.Yu. Vipper left the USSR in 1924, worked successfully in Latvia, and then, in 1941, returned to the USSR after the annexation of the Baltic States. What was the attitude to the "connected" historian, how successfully did he himself get used to the realities of the Soviet academic life, how did the ideological control of that time affect his work - all this will be discussed in the article. For the first time, a number of documents from the Archives of the Russian Academy of Sciences and RGASPI are being introduced into scientific circulation.
