The transition to the conditions of a market economy led to the emergence of private property and increased competition, which was the main activity for enterprises - the receipt of surplus product. The article tells about the basic concepts and approaches to the study of the surplus product. This article also discusses the main mechanisms for making profit and its impact on the activities of the hired working class. In conclusion, attention is focused on the problem markets of technologies for the development of the economy in Russia.
