In the article, the following fundamental questions are comprehended: whether education remains a public good,
whose objective is the all-round development of the individual, in the sense that the ancestors of the modern education system understood it, or it has become one of the new areas of the economy related to the services sector. The answer to this question is of key importance for understanding the role of education in modern society, since in the former case the responsibility lies with the state, and in the latter case we are dealing with a market, where the laws of supply and demand rule.
