Динамика этнической идентичности студентов коми-пермяков и русских в процессе обучения
This article presentы the study of ethnic identity and motives of ethnic affiliation in the sample of Komi-permyak and Russian students. Ethnic identity iы a complex of representations and attitudes toward ethic group. Lots of studies pay attention to the development of ethnic identity in childhood and teenage but not in adolescence, youth and adult period of development. Educational environment plays positive role in characteristics of intra-ethnics relations and forms reciprocal acceptance of ethnic groups. Last decades, researches state ethnic erosion of Komi-permyak identity. This proses based on aspiration of belonging to another more attractive social or even ethnic group. The aim of this study is to reveal the dynamics of ethnic identity of Komi-permyak and Russian students as well as to find the interaction of “ethnos”, “age of education” and “sex” factors in ethnic identity characteristics. The sample consists of 273 students from first to final age of education. Statistical methods: t-test for independent groups and ANOVA.
Dynamic of ethnic identity characteristics and motives of ethnic affiliation form first to last years of education was found for Komi-permyak and Russian students. Negative features of ethnic identity reduced for both ethnic group. Nevertheless Komi-permyak ethnic identity tends to erode and it becomes less represented and Russian students demonstrate the rejection of the polarized concepts of their own ethnic group in comparison with other. Sex differences in ethno psychological characteristics leads us to conclusion that “sex” plays independent role in the formation of ethnic identity. Women demonstrate higher ethnic identity characteristics than men. The results of this study have practical significance for the formation of positive inter-ethnic relations and identity.
