Phraseological structures (PS) are forms of expression of consciousness clichés. The language of politics and the media serves is a productive source for such cliches. In order to strengthen the expressive potential and the modal-evaluative function, clichéd structures are subjected to various transformations, the types and functions of which are discussed in the article.
