Scientists Create Open Dataset for Studying Concentration
A team of Russian researchers, including scientists from HSE University–St Petersburg, has developed the first open multimodal dataset containing recordings of brain activity, heart function, and video observations to help researchers understand what happens in the human brain during deep concentration. In the future, the dataset could accelerate the development of neural interfaces, rehabilitation technologies, and AI systems. The article has been published in Scientific Data.

‘Science Is Universal-It Knows No Borders
Fuad Aleskerov, Tenured Professor and Director of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis at HSE University, together with his colleagues, has developed methods of network analysis in bibliometrics that have made it possible to identify patterns in the appearance and citation of publications in academic journals, as well as their influence on each other. When one or a number of studies are frequently cited by a wide range of journals, this is an indicator that the research is of high quality. By contrast, extensive cross-citation within a limited group of journals increases the likelihood of identifying a network of predatory publications.

Long-term production planning problem: scheduling, makespan estimation and bottleneck analysis
Лазарев А. А., Архипов Д.И. Д. И., Battaia O. O., , in: IFAC-PapersOnLineVol. V.50. Issue 1.: Editions Elsevier, 2017. Ch. 50 P. 7970–7974.
In this paper, a long-term production planning problem is considered with the objective criteria Cmax and Tmax and under resource capacity and precedence constraints. The case study presented is characterized by four years planning horizon, 3552 operations, 51 workers and 57 units of equipment. The solution method elaborated in this study is a heuristic algorithm. ...

Planning Problem for Continuous-Time Finite State Mean Field Game with Compact Action Space
Averboukh Y., Volkov A., Dynamic Games and Applications 2024 Vol. 14 P. 285–303
The planning problem for the mean field game implies that one tries to transfer the system of infinitely many identical rational agents from the given distribution to the final one using the choice of the terminal payoff. It can be formulated as the mean field game system with the boundary condition only on the distribution. ...

Delay Tolerant Network Potential in a Railway Network
Tikhonov E., Schneps-Schneppe D., Namiot D., , in: Proceedings of the 26th Conference of Open Innovations Association FRUCT.: IEEE, 2020. P. 438–448.
The article is devoted to the analysis of the effectiveness of the DTN (Delay Tolerant Network) system in a communication network on a railway line. Trains act as moving objects that are sending and receiving messages to/from an external network. As well trains may transmit telemetry, collected during movement. The article presents data on effectiveness ...

New generation APS systems for demanding planning environments
Solodovnikov V. V., Konvicka D., , in: IMCSM ProceedingsIssue 2.: University of Belgrade, Technical Faculty in Bor, Department of Engineering Management, 2018. Ch. 1 P. 60–69.
The paper examines strategically important management tool - Advanced Planning and Scheduling systems (APS systems) and their efficiency in Demanding Planning Environment. The key characteristics of Demanding Planning Environments are systematized: the uniqueness of the technological processes; high complexity and scope; limited ability to describe and low predictability; high volatility and change sensitivity. The new ...

Quality improvement of caster scheduling at Trinecke Zelezarny
Solodovnikov V. V., Konvicka D., , in: Foundry 2018. Proceeding of the XXV International Scientific and Technical ConferenceIssue 1 (2).: Sofia: Scientific Technical Union of Mechanical Engineering "INDUSTRY-4.0", 2018. P. 3–6.
The paper analyzes melt shop and caster scheduling at special steel maker – Trinecke Zelezarny. The main optimization objectives of melt shop and caster scheduling are defined as: minimization of earliness and lateness of orders, maximization of tundish utilization, minimization of steel grade changes and minimization of mold width changes, minimization of stock, minimization of over grading, management ...

Coordination of production and transportation in supply chain scheduling
Pei J., Pardalos P. M., Liu X. et al., Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization 2015 Vol. 11 No. 2 P. 399–419
This paper investigates a three-stage supply chain scheduling problem in the application area of aluminium production. Particularly, the fi rst and the third stages involve two factories, i.e., the extrusion factory of the supplier and the aging factory of the manufacturer, where serial batching machine and parallel batching machine respectively process jobs in di erent ways. In ...
