This paper analyses the mechanisms of cooperation with the innovative environment for the company development. For this purpose the theoretical and empirical researches, as well as the international and Russian experience of such interaction are illustrated. Furthermore the article identifies the benefits and costs associated with the companies’ cooperation with the external partners. The roadmap of companies` cooperation with the external environment developed as a strategic tool for innovation management. This document shows how each of the cooperation mechanisms can be applied at various stages of innovation cycle.
