This article considers the main views of the British (Frank Kiston) and French(Roger Trinquer, David Galula) theorists on the question of armed struggle against the rebel forces. In exploring the phenomenon of a partisan (base on the work of the German philosopher Carl Schmitt), the partisan war is viewed as a consequence of the transformation of war and the basic elements of the counter-insurgency war, especially the theoretical constructs.
