At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Road Injuries Leading Cause of Death Among Men Aged 10 to 39
Worldwide, road injuries are the leading cause of death among males aged 10–39. An international team of researchers reached this conclusion as part of the Global Burden of Disease Study 2023, analysing data from 204 countries between 1990 and 2023. Their findings have been published in The Lancet Public Health, with HSE University Professor Vasily Vlassov listed among the collaborators.

König Graphs for 4-Paths: Widened Cycles

P. 45–54.
Dmitry Mokeev

We characterize the graphs whose induced subgraphs all have the following property: The maximum number of induced 4-paths is equal to the minimum cardinality of the set of vertices such that every induced 4-path contains at least one of them. In this chapter we describe all such graphs obtained from simple cycles by replacing some vertices with cographs.

Информационно-структурный подход в научном реализме: обсуждение и аргументы
Karpenko I., Философия. Журнал Высшей школы экономики 2026 Т. 10 № 1 С. 298–334
The article presents arguments in favor of a modified version of information structural realism. The main idea of the approach is to reject the concept of material reality as ontologically primary, instead it is proposed to consider information representations that are implemented in the form of models (scientific representations) as fundamental. The key difference from ...

Новые интерфейсы и новые медиаторы
Maksimenkova O. V., Сегал А. П., Вопросы философии 2025 № 10 С. 67–76
The study is devoted to the humans and artificial intelligence (AI) interaction. The authors view this interaction as mediated by interfaces that both simplify it and hide the real mechanisms of encoding and decoding messages (according to Shannon). In such a situation, the characteristics of the actor of communication are blurred, and it is not ...

В защиту информационного структурного реализма: версия альтернативных описаний
Karpenko I., Эпистемология и философия науки 2025 Т. 62 № 2 С. 190–207
The paper analyzes some varieties of structural realism and proposes an expanded version of information structural realism (ISR). The version of non-eliminative ontic structural realism (OSR), which accepts entities and structures as ontological primitives and denies the existence of theoretical objects, is criticized. Arguments are given from the field of philosophy of science and physics ...

Рябчинский Н. В., Вопросы философии 2024 № 12 С. 113–123
Currently, the philosopher and Slavic philologist Dmitry Chizhevsky (1894– 1977) remains one of the least studied and represented thinkers in Russia. This article aims to help improving this situation. The conceptual basis of this study proposes a comparative approach to highlight Chizhevsky’s significant philosophical importance, which is often overshadowed by his purely historical and literary ...

F. Dostoevsky's early novel "The Double" has repeatedly become the subject of a heated dispute about the meaning of both, specific artistic techniques and the entire storyline as a whole. The most problematic aspect of the interpretation is the phenomenon of the novel's main character duality, Mr. Golyadkin. At present, there are two points of ...

The article considers new approaches to four of Zeno’s paradoxes: the Arrow, Achilles and the Tortoise, the Dichotomy, and the Stadium. The paradoxes are analyzed in the light of current research in the field of elementary particle physics and some promising directions in the development of the quantum gravity. Physical theories, provided with the necessary ...

On continuous duality for Moore groups
Akbarov S. S., Journal of Operator Theory 2022 Vol. 88 No. 1 P. 3–36
In 2013, Yu.N. Kuznetsova constructed a duality theory for Moore groups, based on the idea of a continuous envelope of topological algebra and having the advantage over the existing theories that its enveloping category consists of Hopf algebras in the classical sense. Unfortunately, her work contains several errors, due to which her theory can be considered proved only for ...

We investigate smooth representations of complete Kac-Moody groups. Our results include an estimate on projective dimension, localisation theorem, unimodularity and homological duality. ...

Human nature’s complexity and contradictoriness, accentuating the enigmatic essence of the Russian mentality, receives a unique depiction in Dostoevsky’s works. A graph is König for a q-path if every its induced subgraph has the following property. The maximum number of pairwise vertex-disjoint induced paths each on q vertices is equal to the minimum number of vertices, such that removing all the vertices produces a graph having no an induced path on q vertices. In this ...

We understand a solution of a cooperative TU-game as the α-prenucleoli set, α ∈ R, which is a generalization of the notion of the [0, 1]-prenucleolus. We show that the set of all α-nucleoli takes into account the constructive power with the weight α and the blocking power with the weight (1 − α) for all possible values of the parameter α. The ...

Duality of critical interfaces in Potts model: numerical check
Zatelepin A., Shchur L., / Series "Working papers by Cornell University". 2010. No. 1008.3573.
We report on numerical investigation of fractal properties of critical interfaces in two-dimensional Potts models. Algorithms for finding percolating interfaces of Fortuin-Kasteleyn clusters, their external perimeters and interfaces of spin clusters are presented. Fractal dimensions are measured and compared to exact theoretical predictions. ...

König graphs for 3-paths and 3-cycles
Alekseev V. E., Mokeev D. B., Discrete Applied Mathematics 2016 Vol. 204 P. 1–5
Given a set X, a König graph G for X is a graph with the following property: for every induced subgraph H of G, the maximum number of vertex-disjoint induced subgraphs from X in H is equal to the minimum number of vertices whose deletion from H results in a graph containing no graph in X as an induced subgraph. The purpose of this paper is to characterize all König graphs ...

In the paper we show that in a cooperative game the set of $\alpha$-prenucleoli takes into account the constructive power with weight $\alpha$ and the blocking power with weight $(1-\alpha)$ for all possible ...

We consider a monopolistic firm that sells seasonal goods. The firm seeks the minimum of the total advertising expenditure during the selling period, given that some previously defined levels of goodwill and sales have to be reached at the end of the period. The only control allowed is on advertising while goodwill and sales levels ...
