The scientifi c schools of the Institute form an integral part of the history of Russian legal science. They are formed and developed continuously, characterized by the creative unity of employees of diff erent generations, ensuring the evolution of ideas, continuity and consistency of research. Volumes III–V of the Chronicle reveal the historical stages and conditions of the development of Russian scientifi c and legal thought, which clearly shows the process of scientifi c search, allows us to comprehend its achievements, contributes to the improvement of scientifi c methodology, preservation and replenishment of the legal heritage of Russia. Volume IV is devoted to scientifi c schools that are united in the subject of public law, which is also an independent scientifi c direction that has been formed at the Institute over the past quarter of a century and has presented the most striking fundamental works to legal science. This volume presents materials on the development of the school of constitutional law, the criminal law scientifi c school, the administrative law school, the school of fi nancial law, as well as on the new, emerging scientifi c direction of legal support for combating corruption. For legal scholars and practitioners, teachers, students and postgraduates of law schools and faculties, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in the fate of legal science.
