ГОДОНИМИЧЕСКИЕ ОБЪЕКТЫ ПЕРВОГО РАЙОНА ВЕНЫ
The author of this article turns to the consideration of the homonyms of the Inner City or the First District (Innere Stadt) of Vienna, one of the oldest and culturally significant cities in Europe, as they represent a rich source for the study of historical memory. The interest in this problem is dictated by the desire to analyse the system of homonyms of the Austrian capital. The aim of the study is to identify and interpret the main principles of nominating streets of the historical city centre. An attempt has been made to substantiate the leading principles of nomination of hodonyms by dividing them into 14 groups using the method of continuous sampling, which allowed us to identify some features of the formation of the language of urban space (most hodonyms reflect the principle of reminiscence of the past; they are recognisable, have a variety of forms and represent the attitude to Vienna), as well as to discover problematic aspects of the study (toponymic terminology needs a clearer structuring).
