The VOTS2025 is the third edition of the Visual Object Tracking Segmentation benchmark. Organised the VOT initiative, VOTS builds on 10 years of experience in organising VOT challenges. Building on the tracking setup introduced in VOTS2023, the challenge continues to integrate short-term and long-term tracking, as well as single-target and multi-target scenarios, using segmentation masks as the sole form of target annotation. This year's benchmark features three sub-challenges. VOTS2025 and VOTSt2025, evaluate tracking of conventional objects and objects undergoing topological changes, respectively. A new addition, VOTS-RT2025, aims to foster the development of efficient tracking models by introducing constraints that highlight realtime performance. All sub-challenges adopt a consistent evaluation protocol, with VOTS-RT2025 introducing specific modifications to reflect latency-aware performance. We report and analyze results from 32 submissions. Full tracker descriptions, source code, datasetsand the evaluation toolkit are available on the project website https://www.votchallenge.net/vots2025/.

Prikhodko R., Moshkin A., Romanov A., , in: 2025 International Russian Automation Conference (RusAutoCon).: IEEE, 2025. P. 273–278.
The vertebral arteries are one of the most important sources of blood supply to the brain, therefore any pathological changes in them can be the reason behind serious diseases. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) allows diagnosticians to examine main arteries, which is exceptionally important for effective diagnosis. However, because of the small size of arteries relative ...

Medical research has made tremendous progress in detecting various pathologies in the human body. There is still the problem of the speed of the process, and the lack of a sufficient number of trained professionals in this field. Detection of prostate cancer, in particular, without surgery is a very labor- intensive process. A neural network-based ...

Many traffic accidents happen on the roads every day and a lot of them are captured on traffic or dashboard cameras. This data could be used to train machine learning models to predict dangerous situations so that they can be prevented. For that, it should be organized into datasets. Nowadays a limited amount of traffic ...

Categorical grouping is not required for guided conjunction search
Utochkin I. S., Khvostov V., Wolfe J., Journal of Vision 2020 Vol. 20 No. 8 P. 1–22
Knowledge of target features can guide attention in many conjunction searches in a top-down manner. For example, in search of a red vertical line among blue vertical and red horizontal lines, observers can guide attention toward all red items and all vertical items. In typical conjunction searches, distractors often form perceptually vivid, categorical groups of ...

An explicit investigation of the roles that feature distributions play in rapid visual categorization
Im H. Y., Tiurina N., Utochkin I. S., Attention, Perception and Psychophysics 2021 No. 83 P. 1050–1069
Ensemble representations are often described as efficient tools when summarizing features of multiple similar objects as a group. However, it can sometimes be more useful not to compute a single summary description for all of the objects if they are substantially different, for example when they belong to entirely different categories. It was proposed that the visual ...

The Rapid Segmentation of Multiple Objects Is Based On Global Rather Than Local Sampling
Khvostov V., Utochkin I. S., Stakina Y., Perception 2019 Vol. 48 No. SI P. 126–126
We previously showed that people can discriminate multiple intermixed groups of objects based on "segmentability," large gaps between values in feature distributions forming several peaks. Here, we test whether such discrimination is based on local or global sampling. Two arrays of lines of various orientation (O) and length (L) were presented; both had identical feature ...

Continuous to discrete: Ensemble-based segmentation in the perception of multiple feature conjunctions
Utochkin I. S., Khvostov V., Stakina Y., Cognition 2018 Vol. 179 P. 178–191
Although objects around us vary in a number of continuous dimensions (color, size, orientation, etc.), we tend to perceive the objects using more discrete, categorical descriptions (e.g., berries and leaves). Previously, we described howcontinuous ensemblestatistics ofsimple featuresaretransformedinto categorical classes: Thevisual system tests whether the feature distribution has one or several peaks, each representing a likely ...

Fast approximate energy minimization with label costs
Delong A., Osokin A., Isack H. et al., , in: Proceedings of the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR 2010).: San Francisco: IEEE, 2010. P. 2173–2180.
The α-expansion algorithm [4] has had a significant impact in computer vision due to its generality, effectiveness, and speed. Thus far it can only minimize energies that involve unary, pairwise, and specialized higher-order terms. Our main contribution is to extend α-expansion so that it can simultaneously optimize “label costs” as well. An energy with label ...

Although objects around us vary in a number of continuous dimensions (color, size, orientation, etc.), we tend to perceive the objects using more discrete, categorical descriptions. Ivanenko V., et a., Gelfand M. S. et al., PeerJ 2016 Vol. 10 No. 4 P. e2305-1–e2305-20
This study describes the segmentation and setation at different developmental stages of the homonomous trunk limbs of the remipede Speleonectes tulumensis Yager, 1987 collected in anchialine caves of the Yucatan Peninsula. Most homonomous trunk limbs originate ventrolaterally and are composed of two protopodal segments, three exopodal segments and four endopodal segments; contralateral limb pairs are ...
