The publication establishes a full text of a report made by Professor Vladimir M. Lavrovsky at Lomonosov Moscow State University (Faculty of History). This report focuses on the results of his scientific mission to the Anglo-Soviet Conference (London, September 1958). Lavrovsky describes in details the discussion on his own report and accentuates the advantages of the Marxist-Leninist methodology. He pays a special attention to his personal impressions after some conversations with colleagues and trips to Canterbury, Oxford, and Cambridge. Vladimir M. Lavrovsky accompanied his speech by photos, albums, and guidebooks purchased by him earlier during his journey. Some imprint data, the origin, and nature of these visual documents are re-established in the present publication. It stresses out Lavrovsky’s opinion on the possibility and necessity of a dialogue between English and Soviet historians despite the official antagonism of their respective states.
