The research paper objective is to formulate and integrate the term “langues d’oïl” into contemporary
Russian Romance studies’ conceptual framework in order to expand Romance languages’ scientific knowledge.
In accordance with this goal, the given paper involves a number of objectives: term “langues d’oïl” formation’s
historical background analysis; regional languages’ area description in modern France; comprehensive description
of “French patois” phenomenon (patois francisé) as a result of langues’ d’oïl and standard French’s interactions.
Important aspects of the research include determination of langues’ d’oïl place in Romance languages’ general classification as well as formation of their dialects’ classification and assess of Germanic languages’ influence on their development. The result of the undertaken research is a systematic scientific knowledge of langues d’oïl as Romance languages’ group with a complex structure and unique linguistic features. The given article contributes greatly to Russian philology by offering unified terminological apparatus and comprehensive analysis necessary for further scientific research in Gallo-Romance linguistics field.
