In 2001, after the publication of the article by J. According to Goldstone's “Towards the fourth generation of revolutionary theory”, a lot of new things have appeared in the approaches of researchers of revolutions in the 1990s, which means that we can talk about the formation of a new - fourth – generation of researchers, the topic of generations of authors of concepts of the theory of revolutions and researchers of revolutions has become quite popular. However, since 2019, discussions have begun that the fourth generation of researchers of the theory of revolution has been replaced or may be replaced by the fifth. At the same time, the points of view on what kind of generation it is, whether it has formed, and what tasks it faces, have greatly diverged. The authors of the article believe that the fifth generation of theorists already exists, but this generation has not yet fully revealed itself. Analyzing the fifth generation of researchers is a major task that cannot be accomplished in a single volume–limited article. Therefore, the key task of this work is to argue in detail and expand the thesis that each generation of researchers of revolutions has “its own” revolutions, which have serious features. Accordingly, these The characteristics of revolutions are shaped in many ways by specific scientific and political approaches, special research methods, and much more.
