œe presented monograph, prepared by an international team of Turkologists from Russia and Central Asian countries, continues the extensive project undertaken by the Research and Educational Center of Altaic Studies and Turkology “Big Altai” at Altai State University, which aims to produce a žve volume Chronicle of the Turkic Civilization. œe žrst volume, published in 2023, focused on the history of the formation of the Turkic civilization and the political and social dynamics through the early and high Middle Ages. œe second volume covers developments in Northern Eurasia during the late Middle Ages, associated with the Mongol conquest of the vast region, the establishment and eventual collapse of the Mongol Empire, and the emergence of the Ulus system. Chronologically, the narrative concludes with an analysis of the processes associated with the rise of the Moscow state and the expansion of its political in¢uence over the Volga region, Siberia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Additionally, the international team of authors focuses on the socio-economic development of Northern Eurasian states in the late Middle Ages, the ethnogenesis of the peoples bearing the Turkic genetic code, the unique features of their material and spiritual cultures, and their interethnic interactions with the Christian, Islamic, and Confucian-Buddhist worlds. œis monograph is intended for researchers, university faculty and students in the humanities, as well as anyone interested in the history of the Turkic world, Russia, and the modern republics of Central Asia
