Комплексные последствия конфликта на Востоке Украины для Республики Молдова
The armed conflict on the territory of Ukraine represents a significant stage of development for the peoples of the CIS countries from a historical perspective. This conflict has a significant impact on neighboring countries, particularly on the CIS countries. Although the consequences of the conflict are difficult to determine in full due to its unfinished nature, it can already be confidently stated that they are complex and affect many spheres of human activity: the economy, energy security, culture, and politics. This article examines the complex impact of the armed conflict on the Republic of Moldova. Moldova is in a difficult situation from both an economic and an energy point of view, within which a direct dependence of the country on stability in the post Soviet space can be seen. For a long time, the main source of energy resources and the main trading partner for Moldova was the Russian Federation. However, due to the Ukrainian crisis, the economic, socio-cultural, technological, and political ties that have been formed over a long period of time are either being destroyed or taking on new forms. The article notes the peculiarities of these new forms of interaction. The causal patterns of Moldova’s neutral position are also determined, as well as the factor of Transnistria in shaping public opinion. Content analysis of reports from the Ministry of Economy of Moldova, the results of social surveys, as well as statements from Moldovan politicians and the opposition, allow for a complete picture to be obtained and the degree of influence of the conflict in eastern Ukraine on the stability of the Republic of Moldova to be determined.
