At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Road Injuries Leading Cause of Death Among Men Aged 10 to 39
Worldwide, road injuries are the leading cause of death among males aged 10–39. An international team of researchers reached this conclusion as part of the Global Burden of Disease Study 2023, analysing data from 204 countries between 1990 and 2023. Their findings have been published in The Lancet Public Health, with HSE University Professor Vasily Vlassov listed among the collaborators.

Биофизические параметры горных лесных экосистем Северозападной Монголии по данным ДДЗ

С. 73–75.
Петржик Н. М., Sandlerskiy R., Ермохина К. А., Тушигмаа Ж.

The study is aimed at developing a methodology for assessing the parameters of ecosystem functioning using multispectral remote sensing data (MRSD) within the information-thermodynamic approach. This approach calculates the main components of the energy balance of a biogeocenosis as an open dynamic system that transforms solar energy due to the non-equilibrium of living matter, based on the ratio of reflection in channels.

Subsidy Effects on Productivity and Technical Efficiency of Corporate Dairy Farms in the Russian Federation
Nikulina Y., Jamali Jaghdani T., Götz L. et al., / Series "Working Papers". 2026.
The impact of state subsidies on Russia's post-Soviet dairy output remains controversial; this study provides an empirical analysis of that relationship. Using an unbalanced panel dataset of 123 dairy enterprises in the Leningrad Region spanning the period from 2010 to 2023, we employ stochastic frontier analysis to assess these relationships. The results indicate that subsidies ...

Human Capital, Structural Transformation, and the Productivity Puzzle in Sub-Saharan Africa: A Structured Narrative
Ajibola A. B., AlterEconomics (ранее - Журнал экономической теории) 2026 No. 23(3) P. 741–765
Education has expanded rapidly in Sub-Saharan Africa, yet productivity growth, formal employment and sectoral growth remain uneven. This divergence motivates a structured narrative review of why a growing stock of human capital has not translated consistently into structural transformation across the region. Drawing on 113 formal-corpus sources selected through structured searches and a documented curated ...

Oscillatory dynamics of inflectional processing: teasing apart defaultness and productivity effects in Russian verbs
Bursov K., Slioussar N., Kokhova M. et al., Brain and Language 2026 Vol. 275 Article 105719
Previous EEG studies demonstrated ample evidence for a major influence of morphological regularity on inflectional processing. However, regularity effects may be attributed to different properties of inflectional classes: to type frequency, to productivity, or to defaultness (assumed only in some models). In many languages, these factors cannot be teased apart, but it is possible in ...

Thermodynamic Properties of Landscape Cover
Sandlerskiy R., , in: Encyclopedia of Ecology, 3rd Edition. Volume 3Vol. 3.: Elsevier, 2026. Ch. 24 P. 208–218.
Thermodynamic variables estimated by multispectral remote survey allows us to evaluate energy balance components, that are reflective of the nature of the physiological processes: photosynthesis, circulation of moisture and biogenic elements by living matter as a function of the landscape components: relief, soil and vegetation. The series of multispectral information provide us a universal tool for ...

Industry-specific effects of IT systems: uncovering the winners and losers
Ivanov E., Molodchik M., Eurasian Business Review 2026 Vol. 16 P. 95–122
This study investigates the industry-specific effects of IT system adoption on company productivity, emphasizing how different industry conditions shape IT-driven performance. Using hierarchical linear modeling on a dataset of 1,500 companies from 12 industries over the period 2008–2021, we analyze the impact of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Business Process Management (BPM) systems. Our findings ...
