The Innovative “Organization-Market-Consumer” Method for Analyzing Banking Ecosystems

The article introduces an original system for the comprehensive analysis of a banking ecosystem, which is referred to as the “organization-market-consumer” (OMC) method. This method involves a consistent evaluation of ecosystem activities across three dimensions. The first step in OMC analysis involves analyzing the ecosystem as an entity (organization) that is subject to specific regulations imposed on financial institutions, given that banks are central to banking ecosystems. This stage also incorporates the notion of bank-centricity. In the “market” phase, the ecosystem is analyzed as a financial market participant, and the results from the previous phase are adjusted based on market characteristics and trends, or market impact coefficients. The final stage of OMC analysis examines the ecosystem as a digital platform by analyzing its consumers activity metrics through economic unit modelling. Two configurations of OMC analyses are presented, along with the conditions for their application. Analysis of a banking ecosystem, conducted in accordance with the presented methodology, allows us to draw conclusions regarding its financial stability. The results of the study can be utilized in the theoretical development of business models and as a methodological instrument for analyzing banking ecosystems.
