The conference Kovalevsky Readings is one of the flagship annual academic events organised by the Russian sociological community at St Petersburg University (SPbU). Its primary objective is to provide Russian sociologists with a platform for discussing pressing challenges in the contemporary world and Russian society, as well as fundamental theoretical and practical issues in sociology and the social sciences. The XVI National Conference Kovalevsky Readings: Sociology in a Post-Global World – Challenges and Prospects aims to examine large-scale societal transformations, the directions and specificities of these changes, and the role of social sciences in addressing urgent problems arising from this process. The conference will focus on critical analyses of globalisation’s aftermath, emerging socio-cultural paradigms, and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding dynamic societal shifts.
