На стыке искусства и внешней политики: образы западноевропейских стран в советской агитации 1960-1970-х годов
The 1960s-1970s are among the most complex and ambiguous years in the history of international relations. On the one hand, the Soviet Union and NATO countries were on the brink of nuclear war several times. On the other hand, it was during these years that détente was taking place, and after achieving parity in armaments, the USSR began to establish relations with the United States and NATO countries in Western Europe: Italy, France, and West Germany. This was reflected in the work of agitprop - if before the end of the 1960s the Western countries were portrayed as a fascist general staff led by the United States, preparing an attack on the Soviet Union, after the beginning of the policy of détente, the leadership of NATO countries was represented as exceptionally competent and benevolent towards the communist countries.
