The article is devoted to questions connected with the lexicographic portraiture and description of the meaning of adjectives entering the synonymic row with the common meaning “strange” – strange, weird, odd, queer. The article offers a description of the semantics of the words belonging to the group “strange”, obtained as a result of the experimental research. The proposed description can serve as a basis for their more accurate and adequate lexicographic portraiture.
