Эфиопия в БРИКС: первый год вместе

The article analyses the results of the first year of Ethiopia’s participation in the BRICS activities. The author conducts an applied analysis of the country’s foreign policy stances on certain issues (inter alia its voting record at the UN General Assembly) before and after joining the association. The focus is on an assessment of Addis Ababa’s policy dealing with key aspects of international agenda, including the country’s approach to the issues of global governance, international security and shaping a fairer world order. The current structure of Ethiopia’s foreign ties and the BRICS’ impact on it is also observed here. According to the author’s opinion, Ethiopia’s participation in the BRICS activities will contribute to its economic growth by attracting foreign direct investment. It will also help to push up strong political cooperation with the other member states.
