Method for Quality Control of Electronic Equipment Units Assembly Based on the Analysis of the Contact Radio Interference Level
This paper presents an analysis of an innovative method of contactless diagnostics of radio electronics components and units. This method makes it possible to evaluate quality of mechanical joints in products produced in both serial and small serial production. The diagnostic process is based on measuring level of modulated electromagnetic radiation. This information is used to assess assembly quality of electronic equipment. This method is based on the principle of recording contact interference generated when electromagnetic radiation from radio transmitters is applied to the structural elements of radio electronic means. As a result of such an impact, radiating contours of phase-amplitude-modulated vibrations from structural elements are formed. This effect can be used to assess assembly quality of structural elements of radioelectronic devices. A design of the radioelectronic device being tested for assembly quality is exposed to electromagnetic radiation. The electromagnetic radiation spectrum re-emitted by structure may change if parameters of the structural elements are subject to various mechanical influences. In a number of structures with mechanical structural connections, phase-amplitude modulation of re-emitted electromagnetic radiation occurs. By analyzing the spectrum of the re-emitted signal and comparing it with the spectrum of the emitted signal, one can judge the condition or quality of mechanical connections of the structural elements. In the field of electromagnetic compatibility, undesirable phenomenon of formation of contact interference to a radio receiver can be used to assess assembly quality of radio electronic equipment structures. When low-frequency mechanical vibrations are applied to structural elements, additional spectral components are formed.
