The article deals with F. Kafka’s attitude to the First World War, reflected in his letters, diaries and prose.
The artistic world of Anne Bronte appeared to be a result of creative rethinking of ideas and styles of her predecessors and contemporaries. The writer’s manner has developed under the influences of different traditions and authors. The main ones are the following: it was important for Anne Bronte to refer to the works of English sentimentalists of the XVIII century, to their methods of expressing feelings and emotions and of exploring the human nature; the romantic poet W. Wordsworth turned out to be close to her in the attitude to nature and ways of depicting nature; female novel made a significant impact, as well as the religious allegorical tradition of the XVIII century with G. Bunyan and the Bible. It is interesting to note, that the list of influences and traditions for Anne Bronte’s sisters differs considerably from that of hers.
