Immunity to Chaos: How Personal Resources Help Us Cope with the Challenges of a Turbulent World
International conflicts, crises and digital overload—the modern world puts our minds to the test every day. Traditional psychology often focuses on the consequences: anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. But what if we looked at the problem differently—through the lens of the resources that prevent us from breaking down? Psychological immunity is precisely this set of resources. Alena Zolotareva and her group, Psychological Immunity as a Resource for Positive Functioning, are developing an integrative model of this phenomenon, adapting diagnostic tools and preparing for large-scale empirical research. Why do psychologists need to collaborate with medical professionals, and how could their research transform preventive care in clinics and corporations?

How to Assess Students Knowledge in the Age of AI
A researcher at HSE University has proposed a flowchart to help lecturers decide how to assess students who use artificial intelligence. It shows where the use of AI should be restricted and where it can be incorporated into the learning process. The article has been published in IT Professional.

‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

Аспекты кэширования в информационно-ориентированных сетях

С. 70–76.
Iakimenko S.

The article is devoted to the issues of caching in information-centric networks (ICN), aimed at addressing by the content name and separating information from its producer node. Intra-network caching is one of the main features of ICN, turning them, in fact, into a network of interconnected caches that can accumulate packets in the buffer of intermediate routers, and also bring them closer to the consumer using a peripheral cache. The effectiveness of such a system depends on many factors discussed in the article: the law of popularity and the content replication strategy, the size and policy of cache eviction. Based on Che's approximation, the article presents a transition from the analysis of a single cache with the LRU (Least Recently Used) eviction policy to the analysis of a network of caches. For the strategy of content replication on a peripheral router, an original algorithm is presented that allows you to effectively store popular content in the cache, and surpasses the traditional LCE approach in several metrics (cache hit, delay, etc.). The simulation of the operation of such an algorithm for a car network scenario was carried out in the ndnSIM network simulator.

Federated Reinforcement Learning for Intelligent Traffic Signal Control: A Privacy-Preserving Approach with Edge-Assisted Aggregation
Ali J. Dayoub, Ehab S. Suleiman, , in: Proceedings of the 2026 8th International Youth Conference on Radio Electronics, Electrical and Power Engineering (REEPE).: IEEE, 2026. Ch. 159 P. 1–5.
Abstract— Urban traffic congestion costs the global economy over $1 trillion annually, necessitating intelligent traffic signal control (ITSC) solutions. Traditional centralized approaches face critical limitations: privacy violations from vehicle trajectory data sharing, prohibitive communication overhead, and scalability challenges in heterogeneous urban environments. This paper presents a federated reinforcement learning (FRL) framework for privacy-preserving traffic signal ...

Introduction: Caching reduces content access latency by bringing it closer to users and offloading the cloud layer of the network. Edge servers are used for this purpose, but the standard TCP/IP stack does not fully utilize caching capabilities. Therefore, it is necessary to consider a cache model using the Named Data Networking stack, which is ...

This paper discusses Named Data Networking (NDN), where addressing occurs by packet name. For these networks, there is a problem of finding software for developing training stands, primarily with the ability to study their features - aggregation and caching. It is shown that in this issue it is preferable not to rely on ready-made software, ...

Menshchikov A., Shadrin D., Prutyanov V. et al., IEEE Transactions on Computers 2021 Vol. 70 No. 8 P. 1175–1188
The Hogweed of Sosnowskyi (lat. Heracleum sosnowskyi) is poisonous for humans, dangerous for farming crops, and local ecosystems. This plant is fast-growing and has already spread all over Eurasia: from Germany to the Siberian part of Russia, and its distribution expands year-by-year. In-situ detection of this harmful plant is a tremendous challenge for many countries. ...

Action-Oriented Programming Model: Collective Executions and Interactions in the Fog
Mäkitalo N., Aaltonen T., Raatikainen M. et al., Journal of Systems and Software 2019 No. 157 P. 1–25
Today’s dominant design for the Internet of Things (IoT) is a Cloud-based system, where devices transfer their data to a back-end and in return receive instructions on how to act. This view is challenged when delays caused by communication with the back-end become an obstacle for IoT applications with, for example, stringent timing constraints. In contrast, ...

System design where cyber-physical applications are securely coordinated from the cloud may simplify the development process. However, all private data are then pushed to these remote “swamps,” and human users lose actual control as compared to when the applications are executed directly on their devices. At the same time, computing at the network edge is ...

Tatarnikov A., Kamkin A., Проценко А. С., Proceedings of the Institute for System Programming of the RAS 2015 Vol. 27 No. 3 P. 125–138
A memory subsystem is one of the key components of a microprocessors. It consists of a number of storage devices (instruction buffers, address translation buffers, multilevel cache memory, main memory, and others) organized into a complex hierarchical structure. Huge state space of a memory subsystem makes its functional verification extremely labor consuming. Nowadays, the main ...
