‘Science Is Universal-It Knows No Borders
Fuad Aleskerov, Tenured Professor and Director of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis at HSE University, together with his colleagues, has developed methods of network analysis in bibliometrics that have made it possible to identify patterns in the appearance and citation of publications in academic journals, as well as their influence on each other. When one or a number of studies are frequently cited by a wide range of journals, this is an indicator that the research is of high quality. By contrast, extensive cross-citation within a limited group of journals increases the likelihood of identifying a network of predatory publications.

PROSPECTS FOR TRANSLATION DEVELOPMENT IN RUSSIA: OCCUPATIONAL STANDARD AS A TRIGGER FOR NEWER PROFESSIONAL TRACKS

P. 246–249.
I. V. Ubozhenko

Modern translation as a multifunctional end-to-end industry guides a request for an urgent transformation of the profession with an emphasis on its highly convergent nature. In this regard, the project-didactic approach in educational methods and programs introduces new trajectories of training translation personnel. Today, the key prospects for the implementation of the basic conceptual ideas of the professional standard of a specialist in the field of translation are being crystallized, and there is an obvious necessity to create effective platforms for testing the document in the educational field of the Russian Federation. It is the didactic method of project-based learning and the idea of the fundamental nature of research activity as a core skill shaping the basis for further synergetic development of the translator’s profession that provide ample opportunities for the promising development of both the translation industry in particular and the cross-cultural communication environment as a whole. The paper may be found useful not only by the researchers in translation studies but also by translation community enthusiasts, translation business trainers, translation training course designers and other translation industry decision makers.
