‘Hedgehog Versus ‘Relatives: Researchers Measure How the Brain Responds to Unexpected Words During Natural Speech
Russian neurophysiologists, including researchers from HSE University, have demonstrated the feasibility of using event-related fields (ERFs) to study brain activity during natural speech perception. The researchers showed that this approach can be applied not only to individual words but also to continuous speech. Their findings indicate that words whose meanings differ significantly from the preceding context require longer processing times. The study also reveals that the brain processes function words in two stages: first, it identifies their grammatical role and then uses this information to predict the next word. The study has been published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience.

Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Gazizov R., Gazizov T. R., Gazizov R. R., , in: 2018 Moscow Workshop on Electronic and Networking Technologies (MWENT). Proceedings.: M.: IEEE, 2018. P. 1–4.
The paper highlights the importance of using evolution strategy (ES) in investigating ultrashort pulse peak voltages in multiconductor structures of printed circuit boards (PCB). Trapezoidal ultrashort pulse propagation along the conductors of a real PCB multiconductor bus was simulated and, with ES, the whole ultrashort pulse duration was optimized using the criterion of peak voltage ...

The simulation of the ultrashort pulse propagation along the conductors of the microstrip C-section has been carried out when the losses in conductors and dielectric were taken into account and without them. The voltage extreme points have been obtained with using of 7 values of the half-turn length. The highest voltage maximum exceeds the amplitude ...

Field Distribution Features of Linearly Polarized Field of Plane Aperture
Sergey P. Skulkin, Uskov G. K., Lysenko N. A. et al., IEEE Access 2023 Vol. 11 P. 66028–66034
In this study, we describe the specific features of the near-field distribution of a uniformly illuminated aperture. An analytical method based on physical optics in the time domain is used to calculate the field intensity. The primitive impulse response function makes it possible to calculate the near-field distribution of the antenna. The difference in the amplitudes of the ...

The paper presents the circuit diagram and the parameters of the cross-section for the model of the power supply (PS) bus of a spacecraft. The optimization of the duration of an ultrashort pulse (USP) exiting the PS bus was made by genetic algorithm(GA) for minimizing the voltage maximum along the PS bus. The GA optimization ...

R. R. Gazizov, Medvedev A. V., Gazizov T. R., , in: 2021 Dynamics of Systems, Mechanisms and Machines (Dynamics).: IEEE, 2021. P. 1–4.
The study proposes to improve the process of large-scale investigation of circuits with modal reservation demonstrated on the example of double-sided printed-circuit board (PCB) with polygons. The TALGAT software was used as a simulation environment. The five different portraits (values along the conductor) of N-norms were obtained for each of the three signals: trapezoidal ultrashort ...

Primitive Impulse Response Function for Near Field Calculation And Its Accuracy
Lysenko N. A., Skulkin S. P., Kopytin V. E. et al., IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters 2021 Vol. 20 P. 2265–2269
Abstract— In this letter, we present a method of calculating the monochromatic field radiated from a uniformly illuminated aperture. We show that closed-form functions are available in the time domain, which lead to frequency domain results. The time dependence of the field is calculated as the derivative of the primitive impulse response function (PIRF) of ...

In this letter, we present a novel time-domain analytic formula for the elementary radiator antenna pattern of a metal plane surface with infinite conductivity. The formula is presented as a function of time and the integration angle. The formula refers to a flat metal aperturewithout regard to its shape. We also describe a novel equation for the primitive impulse response function ...

Frequency dependences of the field for constant angle of observation measured by different probes at different distances are discussed. We consider the case of the square aperture antenna with the uniform field distribution.
