Attention is drawn to the still limited understanding of social semiotics as a theory of the modalities of language
use. Meanwhile, the understanding of semiotics as a platform for interdisciplinary research is becoming increasingly clear. In this case, social semiotics appears as a concept of considering social systems, institutions, processes as sign systems and the dynamics of their development. This approach importance is revealed in the consideration of the digital anthropology problem.
