Model of Voltage Converter with Redundancy of Power Channels for Calculation of Its Operating Time in Statistical Modeling
The problems of forming the operating time to failure of multi-channel voltage converter for statistical modeling are considered. A formal model of the converter with “N out of M active redundancy” is proposed, which allows for the calculation of the converter's operating time taking into account changes in the electrical load of the channels in case of failures. The developed model is created within the limits of assumptions and the restrictions accepted in operating standard documents. The possibility of reducing the computational costs when applying this model in statistical modeling is shown.
This paper presents the urgent problem of improving the developed satellite telecommunication equipment reliability and quality. An analysis of the approaches used in the Russian Federation and the United States to assess the "production quality factor" is made, that directly affects the dependability and quality of the telecommunication equipment. Particular criteria are developed to evaluate the efficiency of the quality management system at the enterprises. Recommendations for the implementation of the developed criteria in the mathematical model for assessing the "production quality coefficient" for the failures category related to the systems management process factor are given.
The report covers the method of the estimated life of electronic devices of control and communication systems at the stage of their development. Mathematical model of life control and communication systems and electronic devices are provided. It is shown that the value of the life of control and communication systems significantly depends on the coefficient of variation of life of electronic devices.
As it is generally known, market of cutting edge technological devices (smartphones, tabs, etc.) is one of the most dynamic, competitive and knowledge intensive market in world. Thanks to that, market leaders always have to chase the latest tendencies and trends, in order to be in sync with consumers’ preferences. In this article authors present their study, conducted in 2016 year and focused on consumers’ preferences in Moscow smartphone market. In order to obtain information about such preferences, authors used Google Forms platform. This platform, being able to conduct audience survey, provided authors with reliable information, answering the three types of questions: social-demographic; questions focused on respondents’ consumer attitude to smartphones and their intended use and cluster allowing to simulate the optimal combination of smartphone characteristics when choosing its model by a consumer.
Generally, this audience survey, designed by authors as a questionnaire, divides all the questions, described above, into two following blocks: first block contains general social-demographic questions such as respondent’s sex, age, marital status, professional specialty and work experience, while the second block includes respondents’ individual preferences in smartphones’ choice. Using both parts of the survey, authors made a full processing of the data obtained and then conducted conjoint analysis of consumers’ choice. The conducted study allowed to identify the most influential factors on the Muscovites’ choice of smartphones’ functions and their target use. For instance, for 73% of respondents questioned camera was the most valuable function of a smartphone, while 64% of them permanently use their smartphones for Internet communications. The authors also found the statistically proven dependence between the frequency and length of smartphone’s use and social-demographic factors. In addition to the abovementioned analysis, authors presented and described the structure of respondents’ preferences.
In the course of this study the authors managed to gather a large amount of source data that allows comprehensive analysis of the target field. In conclusion, it is necessary to add that the obtained results may be useful for market players of cutting edge technological devices and for anyone, interested in information technologies development in modern society.
DepCoS – RELCOMEX is an annual series of conferences organized by Wrocław University of Technology to promote a comprehensive approach to evaluation of system performability which is now commonly called dependability. In contrast to classic analyses which were concentrated on reliability of technical resources and structures built from them, dependability is based on multi-disciplinary approach to theory, technology, and maintenance of a system considered to be a multifaceted amalgamation of technical, information, organization, software and human (users, administrators, supervisors, etc.) resources. Diversity of processes being realized (data processing, system management, system monitoring, etc.), their concurrency and their reliance on in-system intelligence often severely impedes construction of strict mathematical models and calls for application of intelligent and soft computing methods.
This book presents the proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Dependability and Complex Systems DepCoS-RELCOMEX, which took place in Brunów Palace, Poland, from 30th June to 4th July, 2014. The articles selected for this volume illustrate the variety of topics that must be included in system dependability analysis: tools, methodologies and standards for modelling, design and simulation of the systems, security and confidentiality in information processing, specific issues of heterogeneous, today often wireless, computer networks, or management of transportation networks.
The article analyzes the methods of evaluation of calibration intervals of measuring instruments in the design. Describes recommended methods based on the use of indicators of reliability, in the examples it is shown that for electronic measuring instruments, their use may lead to inadequate results. Alternatively, a method based on the use of durability indicators, and examples confirming the possibility of its application in project evaluation of the primary calibration intervals.

Contemporary technical systems are integrated unities of technical, information, organization, software and human resources. Diversity of the processes being realized in the system, their concurrency and their reliance on in-system intelligence significantly impedes construction of strict mathematical models and calls for application of intelligent and soft computing methods.
The submissions included in this volume illustrate variety of problems that need to be explored in the dependability analysis: methodologies and practical tools for modelling, design and simulation of the systems, security and confidentiality in information processing, specific issues of heterogeneous, today often wireless, computer networks, or management of transportation networks.
The paper presents a review of the main types of cooling systems and the main methods of predicting their reliability characteristics. Creation of the technique allowing to consider features of indicators of reliability of the components of the cooling systems applied in computer equipment is considered. With the help of the technique it is possible to calculate in addition to the electronic component, also the mechanical part of the cooling system, which distinguishes it from the standard methods of reliability assessment. This allows us to give an updated value of reliability. Standard computational models of failure rates are analyzed and supplemented with a number of correction factors that are absent in them. The resulting technique is applicable at various stages of design and creation of systems and computer facilities, as well as in conditions where there is a minimum amount of data on the created equipment.
