In the 20th century, the Bashkir national culture finds itself in a situation ofRussian hegemony. We are trying to find out whether this situation affects the system of Bashkir versification. For this, we count cases where the Bashkir syllabic line can receive the correct syllabic-tonic interpretation. On a large sample of texts from more than 100 Bashkir poets of the 20th century, it turned out that there are very few such lines in general, which means that the Bashkir verse retains its cultural identity and is based on the traditional syllabic principle. In the case of borrowing from the Russian text, it is not the Bashkir versification that is modified, but the borrowed foreign language fragment.
