The paper substantiates the need to improve the project management system of the steel company, taking into account the projects of operational efficiency. In-depth interviews with representatives of the Department implementing the projects of operational efficiency was conducted for identification of the key issues of the project activities. The approaches to the formation of the main components of the project management system, taking into account operational efficiency projects was presented in recommendations.
