‘I Like Self-Fulfilling Prophecies
Andrey Vorchik studies happiness, delivers popular science lectures, and believes that science should address social issues as well. In an interview for the Young Scientists of HSE University project, he spoke about how emotions influence decision-making, the Bermuda Triangle formed by the bathroom, refrigerator, and bed, and the ideal formula for education.

Scientists Create Open Dataset for Studying Concentration
A team of Russian researchers, including scientists from HSE University–St Petersburg, has developed the first open multimodal dataset containing recordings of brain activity, heart function, and video observations to help researchers understand what happens in the human brain during deep concentration. In the future, the dataset could accelerate the development of neural interfaces, rehabilitation technologies, and AI systems. The article has been published in Scientific Data.

Vortex quantization in classical mechanics

P. 267–275.
Maslov V. P.

We show that the complex solution for the classical equations has
direct physical meaning, if one uses quasi-classical approach. This combination of
the quantum and classical logic, when applied to the Newton system, provides a
real, “visible to a naked eye” quantization of the vortex momenta.

Group Analysis of the Boltzmann and Vlasov Equations
Platonova K., Borovskih A. V., Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, United Kingdom 2020 Vol. 203 No. 3 P. 794–823
We present results of a group analysis of the multidimensional Boltzmann and Vlasov equations. For the Boltzmann equation, we obtain the equivalence group and classifying relations for the symmetry group and study these relations in the case where external forces are absent. We discover a scale paradox: we show that for any collision integral, an ...

Использование методов классической и квантовой физики в биоэнергетике
Maslov V., Теоретическая и математическая физика 2021 Т. 206 № 3 С. 448–452
We consider the construction of asymptotic solutions of linear equations related to equations of classical mechanics: the Hamilton–Jacobi equation and the transport equation. We show that these methods and also the theory of the mechanics of an infinitely narrow beam as a whole can be applied to some objects in bioenergy if the thin organic ...

Translation of Boris Hessen's "Preface to Articles by A. Einstein and J.J. Thomson"
Winkler S. P., Society and Politics 2019 Vol. 13 No. 1 P. 87–102
The following is a translation of Boris Hessen’s «Предисловие к статьям А. Эйнштейна и Дж. Дж. Томсона», which was published in the Soviet Journal, Под знаменем марксизма.  The paper was an introduction to the Russian translations of Albert Einstein’s „Newtons Mechanik und ihr Einfluß auf die Gestaltung der theoretischen Physik“, J.J. Thomson’s “Newton’s Work in ...

Cyclic partitions in nano-electronics. Nano-cluster circular systems
Saleh H., , in: 2018 Moscow Workshop on Electronic and Networking Technologies (MWENT). Proceedings.: M.: IEEE, 2018. P. 1–6.
The importance of circular systems within radio-schemes increases in the process of transition from marco-to mirco- and then to nano-levels. It is worth mentioning, that on the macro-level any electric chain (since the time of Kirchhoff) as well as the simple radio circuit is usually replaced for necessary calculations by the model system of the ...

QUANTUM MECHANICAL MODEL IN GRAVITY THEORY
Losiakov V., Theoretical and Mathematical Physics 2016 Vol. 187 No. 2 P. 718–729
We consider a model of a real massive scalar field defined as homogeneous on a d-dimensional sphere such that the sphere radius, time scale, and scalar field are related by the equations of the general theory of relativity. We quantize this system with three degrees of freedom, define the observables, and find dynamical mean values of observables in ...

Question of Consciousness: to Quantum Mechanics for the Answers
Karpenko I., , in: Следование правилу: рассуждение, разум, рациональность.: СПб.: Алетейя, 2014. P. 278–287.
The article looks at the possible role of measurement in a quantum-mechanical description of physical reality. The widely spread interpretations of quantum phenomena are considered as indicating an apparent connection between conscious processes (such as observation) and the properties of the microcosm. ...

Renormalization of the vacuum angle in quantum mechanics, Berry phase and continuous measurements
Apenko S.M., Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical 2008 Vol. 41 P. 315301
The vacuum angle θ renormalization is studied for a toy model of a quantum particle moving around a ring, threaded by a magnetic flux θ. A novel type of renormalization group (RG) transformation is introduced by coupling the particle to an additional slow variable, which may also be viewed as a part of a device, which ‘measures’ the particle’s ...

The widely spread interpretations of quantum phenomena are considered as indicating the apparent connection between conscious processes (such as observation) and the properties of the microcosm. The reasons for discrepancies between the results of observations of the microcosm and macrocosm and ...
