Scientists Create Open Dataset for Studying Concentration
A team of Russian researchers, including scientists from HSE University–St Petersburg, has developed the first open multimodal dataset containing recordings of brain activity, heart function, and video observations to help researchers understand what happens in the human brain during deep concentration. In the future, the dataset could accelerate the development of neural interfaces, rehabilitation technologies, and AI systems. The article has been published in Scientific Data.

‘Science Is Universal-It Knows No Borders
Fuad Aleskerov, Tenured Professor and Director of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis at HSE University, together with his colleagues, has developed methods of network analysis in bibliometrics that have made it possible to identify patterns in the appearance and citation of publications in academic journals, as well as their influence on each other. When one or a number of studies are frequently cited by a wide range of journals, this is an indicator that the research is of high quality. By contrast, extensive cross-citation within a limited group of journals increases the likelihood of identifying a network of predatory publications.

Modeling of Microwave Heat Treatment of Materials in Devices of the Radial Type

P. 376–380.
Nefedov V. N., Махмудов С. А.

A model and method for calculating the temperature distribution of a wide range of materials in a microwave beam-type unit taking into account the reflective walls of the chamber is supposed. The experimental and modeling characteristics of the temperature distribution over the thickness of a homogeneous dielectric material at different distances from the walls of the chamber at a frequency of 2450 MHz electromagnetic field oscillations are presented.

Bakunina I. A., Мельников В.

Dark Counts Studied with Spatial Resolution, IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity
Goltsman G., Александр С., IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity 2023 P. 1–5
We investigate dark counts in SNSPD with spatial resolution, using nanostrip-patterned devices with 50 Ohm matched coplanar waveguide - tapers. We found that the dark counts originate from one or several points along the strip, which we call 'weak points'. We found that the dark counts originating from different points can have different dependence of ...

The Frequency of Occurrence of Pre-Flare Fluctuations in Microwave Radiation of Active Regions
Abramov-Maximov V. E., I. A. Bakunina, Geomagnetism and Aeronomy, Springer, Switzerland 2023 Vol. 63 No. 7 P. 916–919
We present a study of the frequency of occurrence of quasi-periodic fluctuations (QPFs) of microwave radiation from solar active regions at the pre-flare stage. We used correlation curves obtained with the Nobeyama Radioheliograph (NoRH). We analyzed 529 flares of classes X, M, and C (according to the GOES classification). In a significant number of considered events (approximately 75% ...

Analysis of the Preflare Phase of Eruptive and Noneruptive Flares Using Data on the Spatial Dynamics of Coronal Magnetic Structures and Their Microwave and Ultraviolet Emission
I. A. Bakunina, Melnikov V. F., Shain A. V. et al., Geomagnetism and Aeronomy 2022 Vol. 62 No. 8 P. 1066–1072
The dynamics of the preflare phase of microwave and ultraviolet emission for M-class X-ray flares in three active regions (ARs), two flares with coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and one flare without a CME, were considered. Extrapolation of the magnetic field in the AR corona showed that eruptive events were associated with the formation of a ...

Signs of Preparation of Solar Flares in the Microwave Range
Abramov-Maximov V. E., I. A. Bakunina, Geomagnetism and Aeronomy 2022 Vol. 62 No. 7 P. 895–902
We present a study of the spatial distribution of quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs) of microwave emission in three solar active regions before flares. The following events are considered: SOL2011-09-06T01:50M5.3, SOL2011-09-25T02:33M4.4, and SOL2012-07-08T04:19C6.6. Daily observations on the Nobeyama Radioheliograph at a frequency of 17 GHz are used. In all three cases, pre-flare trains of the QPOs of ...

Bakunina I. A., Мельников В. Ф., Шаин А. В. et al., Известия Крымской астрофизической обсерватории 2022 Т. 118 № 1 С. 65–74
To date, observational signs that determine the ability of  solar active region to cause an eruption of matter into the high layers of the solar corona (CME) are not entirely clear. This makes it difficult to understand the physical mechanism of the CME trigger. This paper presents a search for observational signs that may indicate ...

Konstantin O. Petrosyants, Nikita I. Ryabov, , in: 2020 26th International Workshop on Thermal Investigations of ICs and Systems (THERMINIC).: IEEE, 2020. P. 1–7.
Multi-chip embedded PCBs were in resent years the mainstream technology of electronic packaging size reduction and at the same time providing improved performance. Ultra-small package size obviously strongly impacts the SiP module thermal behaviour. Unfortunately the complete thermal design methodology was not developed for this technology till now. In this work the problem of thermal ...

A set of modified compact SPICE models of various flavours of MOSFETs (fabricated by bulk, SOI and SOS technologies) is presented for circuit simulation in the deep-cryogenic temperature range down to 4 K, which is important for space applications and development of scalable quantum computers. All models are constructed using the approach combining macromodeling based ...
