P. 29–38.
The paper examines the image of Western christianity in medieval Rusian culture. The primary sources are the anti-catholic sermons and epistles created by the Rusian bookmen of the 11th – 15th centuries. Compared with their probable greek sources these texts demonstrate more interest in everyday life of western neighbours, whereas dogmatic issues remain misunderstood or neglected. Such an attitude is very characteristic the religious life of pre-petrine Russia.
