HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Is It Possible to Predict a Citys Life Based on the Shape of Its Neighbourhoods?
Is it possible to predict, based on the configuration of streets and buildings, where a café will open or where traffic congestion will occur? Participants in the Spatial Analysis and Modelling of Urban Processes research and study group use open data and machine learning to identify universal patterns. Alexander Sheludkov and Eduard Somov discuss the purpose of comparing cities, the need for new forms of urban statistics, and how open data is transforming approaches to urban studies.

REST API

The integration of edge computing into IoT application using AdvantEDGE platform, case study: mobility
Dayoub A., , in: Proceedings of the 2025 7th International Youth Conference on Radio Electronics, Electrical and Power Engineering (REEPE).: United States of America: IEEE, 2025. Ch. 259 P. 1–5.
As the number of the Internet of things (IoT) devices connected to the internet increases, the amount of data explodes. This leads to a higher demand for internet speed during data transfer and more requirements for computing power and storage in central servers. To address these issues and enable real-time data processing while reducing network ...

Coded Compressed Sensing With List Recoverable Codes for the Unsourced Random Access
Kirill Andreev, Rybin P., Alexey Frolov, IEEE Transactions on Communications 2022 Vol. 70 No. 12 P. 7886–7898
We consider a coded compressed sensing approach for the unsourced random access and replace the outer tree code proposed by Amalladinne et al. (2020) with the list recoverable code capable of correcting t errors. A finite-length random coding bound for such codes is derived. The numerical experiments in the single-antenna quasi-static Rayleigh fading channel show that transition ...

Fast Emotion Recognition Neural Network for IoT Devices
Mikhaylevskiy S., Chernyavskiy V., Pavlishen V. et al., , in: 2021 International Seminar on Electron Devices Design and Production (SED).: IEEE, 2021. P. 1–6.
The last decades have witnessed rapid IoT technologies development, which provided ubiquitous human-computer interactions. Building intelligent systems of various types, among which emotion recognition systems, is important challenge nowadays. Especially pressing problem is to build a real-time portable system which can be embedded in low performance hardware. We propose a high accuracy emotion recognition system, ...

Proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Principles of Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
The International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI), 2020.
Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KR) is a well-established and lively field of research. In KR a fundamental assumption is that an agent's knowledge is explicitly represented in a declarative form, suitable for processing by dedicated reasoning engines. This assumption, that much of what an agent deals with is knowledge based, is common in many modern intelligent systems. ...
