Stability Analysis of Multi-Server Discrete-Time Queueing Systems with Interruptions and Regenerative Input Flow
Ch. 1. P. 13–26.
Tkachenko A., Afanasyeva L. G.
This paper is focused on a discrete-time multichannel queueing system with heterogeneous servers, regenerative input
ow and interruptions. The breakdowns of servers may occur at any time even if they are not occupied by customers. Consecutive moments of breakdowns are dened by a renewal process. We consider the preemptive repeat dierent service discipline. Exploiting coupling method the necessary and sucient stability condition for the system is established.

This article investigates the problem of approximating the generalized
Erdélyi-Kober fractional operator (often referred to as the Lowndes operator)
using cubic splines. A method based on cubic spline interpolation
is proposed for approximating the operator on a non-uniform grid. The
convergence rate of the proposed method is proven, and its stability is
analyzed. Error bounds are established for functions in ...

Perfluorosulfonic acid polymer membrane with increased chemical stability for hydrogen-air fuel cell
Safronova E. Y., A. O. Bedarkova, Novikova S. et al., Polymer Degradation and Stability 2025 Vol. 240 Article 111477
One of the key tasks of hydrogen energy development is to obtain chemically stable proton exchange polymer membranes with high proton conductivity. This article presents the results on the investigation of the stabilization of proton-conducting membranes with a Nafion®-type structure using modification by fluorine. The membranes examined in this study exhibited high thermal stability and ...

The article presents an ethnographic study of the commune Dom (Home), one of about a dozen currently existing communes (“homes”) in Saint Petersburg, Russia, based on cohabitation and management of common household by people who are not related to each other, in large apartments (once communal apartments or dormitories). The residents of the Dom postulate ...

Recently, the concept of resilience has become very popular in psychological science, which in Russian-language psychology is translated as “zhiznesposobnost” [“viability”] or “ustoichivost” [“stability”]. Despite the fact that this concept has firmly entered the conceptual framework of psychological science, there is still no consensus among researchers on its definition and theoretical load. In the scientific ...

Polybenzimidazoles (PBI) doped with phosphoric acid are a promising electrolyte for medium-temperature fuel cells. However, to be effective at high temperatures in the presence of acid, the mechanical and conductive properties of the material must be stable and no critical increase in gas permeability is required. This work proposes an approach to improve the properties ...

Introduction: Internet of Things devices are actively used within the framework of Massive Machine-Type Communication scenarios. The interaction of devices is carried out by random multiple-access algorithms with limited throughput. To improve throughput one can use orthogonal preambles in the ALOHA-type class of algorithms. Purpose: To analyze ALOHA-based algorithms using the exploration phase and to calculate the characteristics ...

The article is devoted to the process of transformation of international supply chains in a crisis situation caused by the imposition of three powerful negative factors: the financial and economic crisis of 2008, the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The authors point out that the destabilizing effect of the ...

Some distortions are possible in the process of preference aggregation. For example, one voter who is pivotal for some preference profi le may not read instructions properly and accidently submit wrong preference. We study how different voting rules react to these distortions for three, four and fi ve alternatives with computer modelling. One of the ...

The mathematical model of the surface effect ship’s lifting system has been derived from the mass balance equation and the flexible bag’s equation. Stability conditions for the system “air cushion - flexible bag” has been obtained. The influence of design parameters on the ship’s stability is analyzed. It is shown that the tendency to unstable ...

An extended vector envelope soliton with significantly different frequencies of the polarization components is found. Coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations, which include the difference in the response of an anisotropic medium to wave fields of different polarizations and different frequencies, are used as a model. The vector soliton differs from the well-known Manakov soliton in the ...

In this paper we prove that the Morse index of the critical Möbius band in the 4−dimensional Euclidean ball 𝔹4 equals 5. It is conjectured that this is the only embedded non-orientable free boundary minimal surface of index 5 in 𝔹4. One of the ingredients in the proof is a comparison theorem between the spectral index of the Steklov ...

In this paper, we derive a stability result for L1 and L∞ perturbations of diffusions under weak regularity conditions on the coefficients. In particular, the drift terms we consider can be unbounded with at most linear growth, and we do not require uniform convergence of perturbed diffusions. Instead, we require a weaker convergence condition in a special metric introduced ...

We consider an initial-boundary value problem for the $n$-dimensional wave equation with the variable sound speed, $n\geq 1$. We construct three-level implicit in time compact in space (three-point in each space direction) 4th order finite-difference schemes on the uniform rectangular meshes including their one-parameter (for $n=2$) and three-parameter (for $n=3$) families. They are closely connected to some ...

Their construction is accomplished by both the classical Numerov approach and alternative technique based on averaging of the equation, together with further necessary improvements of the arising scheme for $n\geq 2$. We study necessary conditions for stability of a Numerov-type compact higher-order finite-difference scheme for the 1D homogeneous wave equation in the case of non-uniform spatial meshes. We first show that the uniform in time stability cannot be valid in any spatial norm provided that the complex eigenvalues appear in the associated mesh eigenvalue problem. Moreover, we prove ...
