At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Wireless access monitoring and control system based on intrabody communication

P. 82–85.
Khromov I. A., Dvornikov A. A.

The paper investigates the wireless body area networks (WBANs) and proposes a novel wireless monitoring and access control system based on BodyCom technology. Authentication methods were analysed. Besides, WBANs and standard IEEE 802.15.6 were considered. This paper presents a prototype of the proposed system and shows a scheme for the implementation. Digital door access control is an electronic locking system operated by a digital key. An electromechanical lock control unit has been designed for this purpose. In addition, a special microcontroller module was designed. The system has a flexible functionality. It can be used both as a home security system and company security systems. The product will be useful for monitoring and access control systems implementation.

Wireless body area network (WBAN) provides energy-efficient data transfer between wearable devices. Traditional WBAN consists of large and high-power consumption devices. Intrabody communication (IBC) is one of the technologies used by WBAN. IBC transmits data within the human body, consisting of different tissues. When developing devices for WBAN, modeling is necessary due to the signal ...

A survey on energy efficiency intrabody communication techniques for wearable devices
Igor Khromov, Mikhail Komarov, Voskov L., Nano Communication Networks 2021 Vol. 29 Article 100353
Currently, wireless body area networks (WBANs) are developing rapidly. Miniature wearable devices which are light weight and low power consumption can be developed using modern technology. However, the WBANs research challenge is power consumption. This paper provides the two intrabody communication (IBC) methods review. The equivalent body channel models and modeling methods are analyzed. The conventional IBC WBANs architecture ...

Bankov D., Khorov E., Kosek-Szott K. et al., IEEE Communications Letters 2020 Vol. 24 No. 10 P. 2305–2308
In Wi-Fi HaLow networks, sensors can transmit data only after the link set-up procedure (LSP). After a power outage or when a swarm of sensors appears in an Internet of Things network, all of them contend for the channel to set up links with the access point. For thousands of sensors the LSP can last ...
