Procedia Computer Science. Knowledge-Based and Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems: Proceedings of the 26th International Conference KES2022
This edition of Procedia Computer Science represents the proceedings of the 26th International Conference on Knowledge - Based and Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems (KES 2022), organised by KES International and held in Verona, Italy and also in virtual form on the KESonline virtual conference platform, 7-9 September 2022. The consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic are still being felt for the third year in succession, the effects of conflict in some countries are being felt by many people including some of our members, and there are other continuing problems in the world. We offer condolences and sympathy to those who have sadly lost loved ones or colleagues, or continue to encounter problems due to world difficulties. KES 2022 was the 26th event in a series of broad-spectrum intelligent systems conferences first held in Adelaide, Australia in 1997. The main aim of this KES conference series is to provide an internationally respected forum for the dissemination of research results and the discussion of issues relating to the theory, technologies and applications of intelligent engineering and information systems. We are pleased to have been able to hold this conference with the option for live attendance at the beautiful and historic University of Verona, Polo Santa Marta in Verona, Italy. Some delegates were unable to take advantage of the opportunity to visit this wonderful location, and they were able to present virtually over the KESonline platform. This truly international conference attracted submissions from a substantial number of researchers and practitioners from all over the world, who submitted their papers to four general track sessions and 54 special sessions. A large number of submissions was received and each paper was peer reviewed by at least two members of the International Program Committee. From them, 483 high - quality papers were accepted for oral presentation and publication in Procedia Computer Science, submitted for indexing in Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), Scopus and INSPEC. The conference chairs would like to express their gratitude to the Keynote Speakers: Prof. Marco Montali, Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, title of talk: “Intelligent Systems for Process Mining”; Prof. Dr. Gloria Phillips-Wren, Loyola University, USA, title of talk: “The Big Data Challenge”; Prof. Michael Soltys, California State University, USA, title of talk: ”Data Analytics in the Cloud”; Prof. Kenji Suzuki, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, title of talk: “AI-aided Diagnostic Systems and Virtual AI Imaging in Medicine”; Prof. Juan Velasquez, University of Chile, Chile, title of talk: “Artificial intelligence as an enabling factor for the future medicine”. We would like to acknowledge the Programme Co-Chairs, the General Track chairs, and the International Programme Committee members and reviewers for their valuable efforts in the review process, helping us to guarantee the highest quality possible for the conference. We would also like to thank the organisers and chairs of the special sessions which make an essential contribution to the success of the conference. Lastly, we would like to thank all the authors, presenters and delegates for their valuable contribution and the Local Organising Committee for making arrangements in Verona and making this an extraordinarily successful event. KES International hopes and intends that KES2022 will make a significant contribution to international research collaboration and understanding, an essential task for the promotion of scientific joint work and excellence.
