Социально-экономические проблемы развития и функционирования транспортных систем городов и зон их влияния : материалы XXIV Международной (XXVII Екатеринбургской, II Минской) научно-практической конференции
Materials of XXIV International scientific and practical conference contain articles devoted to models and methods of advanced calculations for cities’ transportation systems (CTS), design issues and implementation of CTS projects, automobile and bicycle transport infrastructure, pedestrian traffic, economics, UPT organization and management, urban traffic organization and safety, UPT history. The discussion of the first Russian terminological dictionary on CTS continues. Scientists and specialists from Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Khabarovsk, Barnaul...), Belarus, Germany, Israel, Kazakhstan, Canada, USA, Ukraine, France participated in the conference.
The experience of the reading of course of lectures «Transportation systems of big cities» in the Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism of Higher School of Economics (National Research University, Moscow) is expounded. It includes the lectures, test of 74 questions, individual student’s presentation of transport system of one big city.
Short description of arrangement and exhibits of New York Transit Museum is presented. The museum is located in the former subway station Court St near Brooklyn downtown and the MTA main office building. It consists of two underground tiers: 1) upper level with exhibits, stands, models, albums, photos of the history of surface transit in New York City; 2) lower level with subway station filled by old subway carriages and the stands about the subway history of NYC. The upper level includes the shop with souvenirs and books dedicated to the mass transit in New York City and the U.S.A.
Planning and spatial structure of Great London is described. The roadstreet grid and main transportation problems of London are presented. The detailed characteristics of congestion charge, commuting system, CrossRail project, suburban railways are done. Mass transit transportation systems are studied: underground (tubes), Docklands Light Railway, London trams, trolleybuses, buses, taxicabs, bicycles (including Santander Cycles), river transportation, ropeway Emirates Air Line, peoplemovers (APM) inside London’s airports. The main transportation hubs (Stratford, Victoria, London Bridge, Euston, Lewisham) are described as well.
The experience of developing a new document «complex program of transport infrastructure development» in Novosibirsk is considered.
