This article discusses ways to stimulate students' motivation to participate in extracurricular activities. The author points out the following forms of extra-curricular activities: administrative, informative and entertaining. The author proposes the scale of assessment of students for participation in extracurricular activities. These forms should be taken into account in the rating system of the student's academic achievement
This article conducts a study of multiplying the credit rating agencies efforts. These opportunities are practically important in connection with implementation of the IRB approach. The author considers Russian commercial banks as one of the main examples of using proposal methods, so in addition to literature overview the paper includes review of the Russian banking system and rating activities.
Firstly, the author discussed the rating scales mapping for comparison of rating estimations of different agencies. Then, he proposed the distance method with the connected extremum problem to find compatible mapping functions for rating scale correspondence.
Secondly, the paper considered the possibility of rating model system creation for financial institutions. The bank rating models in order logit interpretation are discussed simultaneously for resident (Russian) and non-resident institutions. In addition, the specification of bank models’ characteristics and their quality were considered for the three largest international rating agencies also as econometrical models for corporates and sovereign were presented.
The results reviewed can help to apply basic instruments for practical applications of such models to the risk management problems, which are based on the public information and remote estimation of ratings. Commercial banks and government financial regulators may be perspective consumers of the proposed methods.
This paper studies the results of integration of massive open online courses (MOOCs) into curriculum of the ESP (English for specific purposes) course at the department of Business Informatics of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). The experimental teaching with integration of MOOK component in the ESP course have demonstrated that the educational outcome in this case may be higher than in a traditional course, due to the increase of students motivation provided by individualized learning, the use of modern authentic teaching materials, participation in international educational community. Research findings illustrate that imbedding MOOCs in the university ESP course could become the basis for the integrated study of special subjects and the English language in the international learning community, under the condition that on-campus courses have been re-designed to incorporate MOOC-like components.
The work is devoted to the problems of ranking of debtors in the conditions of the economic crisis. A methodology for determining the rating of debtors of the enterprise is developed. The methodology is based on the priority method, in which a pairwise comparison of the factors affecting the evaluation of debtors and a pair comparison of debtors for each factor are carried out. The results of approbation of the method are presented and recommendations on its use are formulated.
The up-to-date problem of improvement of the quality of higher equation is discussed in the present article. Results of the world rating of the higher-educational institutions for 2011 and 2012 as well as its Russian positions are given by the QS research agency. «Strategy-2020» is being discussed (paragraph 10. Professional education). The author of the article shares with her experience in arrangement of original student work in the form of on-line study. The article deals with the thesis «High-quality education today is deserving life in the future».
The paper considers a peer assessment technology for in the international IELTS exam preparation as a part of English for specific and academic purposes course at the Faculty of Business and Management of the Higher School of Economics for "Business Informatics" speciality. The novelty of the presented model of training consists in developing the technology of peer assessment of a written statement, including seven consecutive steps, as well as rubrics and assessment algorithms created to improve the quality of students performance. The results of the research have shown that the use of the peer assessment technology contributes to a more conscious students’ engagement in the learning process, and in the process of self and peer assessment, maintains motivation at a high level and facilitates the development of critical thinking skills needed for the future professional life. Therefore, peer assessment technology can be effectively integrated into the English language course curriculum (ESAP module) at the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”.
Students' internet usage attracts the attention of many researchers in different countries. Differences in internet penetration in diverse countries lead us to ask about the interaction of medium and culture in this process. In this paper we present an analysis based on a sample of 825 students from 18 Russian universities and discuss findings on particularities of students' ICT usage. On the background of the findings of the study, based on data collected in 2008-2009 year during a project "A сross-cultural study of the new learning culture formation in Germany and Russia", we discuss the problem of plagiarism in Russia, the availability of ICT features in Russian universities and an evaluation of the attractiveness of different categories of ICT usage and gender specifics in the use of ICT.

At present many industries reveal tendency for setting up of vertically integrated companies (VIC) the structure of which unites all technological processes. This tendency proved its efficiency in oil industry where coordination of all successive stages of technological process, namely, oil prospecting and production -oil transportation - oil processing - oil chemistry - oil products and oil chemicals marketing, is necessary. The article considers specific features of introduction of "personnel management" module at enterprises of oil and gas industry.
