‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

Scientists Train Neural Network to Generate Process Plans from 3D Models
Researchers at the HSE FCS AI and Digital Science Institute have developed CAD2TechSpec, a framework that converts 3D models of mechanical parts into machining process plans—step-by-step instructions for machine tools. The solution aims to reduce the time required for the design and preparation of technical process documentation in mechanical engineering, aircraft manufacturing, and other high-tech industries. The study findings have been published in PeerJ Computer Science.

Синергетический экономический, социальный и культурный эффект проведения крупнейших международных спортивных игр: мировой опыт и отечественная практика

Altyn Asyryň Ykdysadyýeti, Туркмения. 2017. № 11. С. 27–31.
Babayeva J.

International sports competitions are a major event that have potentially a significant impact on the economic condition and growth of host cities and countries, as well as on the development of national consciousness. Although the actual event does not last long (usually from one to several weeks), preparations for their implementation start much earlier (sometimes 5-10 or more years in advance) and can entail significant investment costs of long-term economic significance. This article traces the analysis of the positive economic effect of hosting the Games in the context of a review of the accumulated experience of host cities.

Makarov I. A., Россия в глобальной политике 2026 Т. 24 № 4 (140) С. 164–182
Три с половиной года остаётся до 2030-го – окончания срока реализации Целей устойчивого развития (ЦУР) – главной международной инициативы, устанавливающей долгосрочные ориентиры для будущего человечества. Уже очевидно, что она провалилась: преодоление бедности, решение экологических проблем и построение инклюзивного и справедливого общества остались красивой мечтой.  Кто-то может воспринимать ЦУР как памятник человеческой наивности. Но надо понимать, что эта ...
