Text mining approach for logistic companies’ efficiency assessment
The growing activity of companies on the Internet and popularity of social networks promote text message generation, containing people’s feedback on products and services. It seems obvious that such sources of unstructured big data being analysed can give additional competitive advantages to a company. Although there are many attempts to cope with this unstructured, messy data and extract useful information from it, a holistic approach to the analysis of review texts is still an issue of research. This study systemises researches in this field and offers a general approach to logistic companies’ efficiency assessment based on text mining methods. This approach enables assessment of logistic companies’ activity from different aspects including staff, management, working conditions, communication, time, safety, and economic factors. The approach was tested on review texts about two transportation companies for which total company scores were calculated.
