The authors attempt to study the attitudes of Russians towards corruption by analyzing information obtained from the social media platform “VKontakte”. Based on a review of English-language sources and publica-tions by Russian scholars, a number of assumptions are made about the relationship between personal and socio-demographic characteristics and intolerance for corruption offences. The analysis of the results of the marked-up dataset found a significant correlation between the occurrence of different types of messages about corruption in social media and the characteristics of “VKontakte” platform users. The present study holds great promise for ex-ploring the relationship between the digital attributes of social media users’ accounts and their intolerance for cor-ruption offences.
