Proceedings with the participation of foreigners in Russia and Ukraine
This article is dedicated to one of the key aspects of international civil procedure - production in cases involving foreigners. The authors focused on the comparative analysis of Russian and Ukrainian legislation on the regulation of international procedural relations. The article includes two sections: the first section deals with the international jurisdiction of Russian arbitration courts and Ukrainian commercial courts to resolve international commercial disputes and in the second section we study the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments on economic disputes in Russia and Ukraine. The authors have studied in detail a wide range of legal sources, including national laws and international treaties, in order to identify similarities and differences in the Russian and Ukrainian law under production in cases involving foreigners.
The article is devoted to a particular form of freedom of assembly — the right to counter-demonstrate. The author underlines the value of this right as an element of democratic society, but also acknowledges the risk of violent actions among participants of opposing demonstrations. Due to this risk, the government may adopt adequate measures restricting the right to counter-demonstrate, certain types of which are analyzed in this paper.
